Regional Hubs and Partners
Community-designed and community-led programming.
Evidence-based strategies that support mental, physical, and social health.
Integrated evaluation and knowledge sharing infrastructure.
Partnership models that centre equity, sustainability, and mutual benefit.
The CO-PLAY Network and its regional Hubs and partners are focused on supporting the wellbeing and social inclusion of newcomer children and youth through:
The Network emphasizes the strengths of sport and physical activity (structure, teamwork, goal-setting, mentorship, joy) without framing it as “sport for sport’s sake”. Instead, focus is on the broader outcomes that matter most: health equity, social cohesion, and long-term integration.
Regional Hubs
The CO-PLAY hubs work to design, deliver, and evaluate programs that empower newcomer youth to lead healthy, active lives as they build their futures in Canada while also addressing systemic barriers to participation.
The CO-PLAY Network Hubs seek to improve settlement experiences and long-term health outcomes for young newcomers across the country.
Partners
Network partners are community organizations, purpose-driven investors, corporate philanthropies, public sector leaders, and more.
Supporting and investing in the growth of the network, Network partners support growth and co-invest in:
Community capacity building.
Program implementation in key urban and rural settlement regions.
The evaluation and knowledge of mobilization infrastructure.
Together, The CO-PLAY Network is creating a system that welcomes and supports newcomer children and youth from their first days in Canada, setting them on a path toward lifelong wellbeing and belonging.
